Our very first fundraising event raised £78,557 and, with reserves and grant support, paid for the £100,000 Laparo Apex now training surgeons in Leeds.
Just weeks after the relaunch as Luma Foundation, our inaugural Charity Clay Day at Rievaulx Abbey brought together business leaders from across the region for a day of shooting, lunch and a live auction.
The £78,557 raised, together with existing reserves and grants from the Yorkshire Property Charitable Trust and the Kusuma Trust, completed the purchase of the Laparo Apex. It was installed at Leeds Children's Hospital by the end of July 2024.
