Back at Rievaulx for our second year, thirty teams raised £88,797 to fund light therapy that eases the pain of cancer treatment for children in Leeds.
Our second Clay Day returned to the wooded valley beneath Rievaulx Abbey. Thirty teams of four shot six stands before a long lunch, a heads-and-tails game and a live auction that alone raised more than £48,000.
The total of £88,797 funded two photobiomodulation units for the children's oncology team at Leeds Children's Hospital, so that children going through chemotherapy suffer fewer painful mouth ulcers, need less pain relief and spend fewer nights in hospital.
