Our third Clay Day moved to the moorland stands of the Snilesworth Estate and helped push our Sheffield appeal past its £100,000 target.
Thirty teams took to the stands on the Snilesworth Estate, four and a half miles from Rievaulx, on a bright June morning. With a live auction led once again by Richard Smailes of FSS Property, a silent auction online and a marquee full of Yorkshire's business community, the day helped take our nanopore sequencing appeal to £120,000.
The technology will give children at Sheffield Children's Hospital a brain tumour diagnosis in about 24 hours instead of six to eight weeks, so treatment can begin sooner. Our thanks to Roxtons Bailey Robinson, who ran the shoot, to every sponsor and team, and to the estate for welcoming us.
