Third annual Charity Clay Day at the Snilesworth Estate
Thirty teams, a moorland setting and a marquee full of generosity: our third Clay Day helped take the Sheffield appeal over the line.

On Friday 5 June we welcomed thirty teams to the Snilesworth Estate in the North York Moors for our third annual Charity Clay Day. After breakfast and a safety briefing the squads set off for a morning on the stands, run this year by Roxtons Bailey Robinson, before returning to the marquee for lunch, heads and tails, a live auction led by Richard Smailes and the prize-giving.
Guests heard from Alex Duckett about what last year's money bought, the two photobiomodulation units now in daily use at Leeds Children's Hospital, and watched a film from Sheffield Children's Hospital in which Consultant Neurosurgeon Mr Daniel Gatt explained why nanopore sequencing matters for children with brain tumours.
The day, together with corporate donations, took our appeal to £120,000. Our thanks to every team, sponsor, auction donor and volunteer, and to the estate for a spectacular setting. Teams from 2026 have first refusal on 2027; if you would like to join the waiting list, get in touch.
